Hartsville men and women organized Hartsville Community Bank in
the fall of 1998. The organizers sold stock in the spring of 1999
and the bank opened for business on June 15, 1999. We have over
800 stockholders and the vast majority live in Hartsville.
Hartsville Community Bank was the first commercial bank to be
organized in Hartsville in over sixty years. The bank opened for
business with ten employees. We moved into our location at 206
South Fifth Street in May 2001. We opened our McBee Branch on
May 28, 2003 at the intersection of US 1 and SC 151.
On June 27, 2005 Hartsville Community Bank changed its' name to Heritage Community Bank. Nothing else changed. Same Owners, Same Board of Directors, Same People, Same Services. Notice that "Community" is still our middle name. Heritage Community Bank… serving more communities, but sharing a common Heritage.
On November 15, 2006 the bank opened our Camden Branch and in June 2007 we moved the branch to its permanent location at 2220 West DeKalb Street.
